Questions & Answers
Where can I find more information on Don Cameron and shamanic energy medicine?
In April, 2012, I gave a 20-minute radio interview (about my focus on Veterans) on the Cape Cod radio station. To listen to it, click here (it may take a while to start playing).
In April, 2010, the magazine Prime Time published an interview with me. To read it, click here.
In December, 2009, I gave a one-hour interview about my work on the Cape Cod radio station. To listen to it, click here (it may take a while to start playing).
My training is from The Four Winds Society. Their web-site contains information about this type of energy healing, as well as links to a number of resources (such as books, articles, and interviews). There’s also a store where you can purchase books, CDs and DVDs. I recommend the following introductory books (both available on Amazon):
- Dance of the Four Winds: Secrets of the Medicine Wheel: The story of Alberto Villoldo’s journeys in Peru to explore the teachings of the native shamans.
- Shaman, Healer, Sage: A detailed introduction to the concepts of shamanic healing.
What are your rates? And how long does a session last?
My regular price of an initial one-hour session is $50, but for veterans and their families I offer the initial session at no cost.
Subsequent sessions, also about an hour long, are normally $80, but for veterans and their families I charge only $40.
Payments can be made by cash or check at the time of the session (my services are not covered by insurance).
Gift certificates are now available: click Contact Me and request a sample certificate.
If you refer a friend who then comes for a session, I will offer you a discount on your own next session with me.
How many sessions will I need?
Depending on the nature of the work involved, significant healing can be accomplished in one to three sessions. Many people find that one session is all they need.
Success is affected by the intensity of your desire for healing, and your willingness to actively create healing patterns in your life.
House calls? Phone sessions?
I’m willing to make house calls (in the Cape Cod area, at adjusted rates), and I offer sessions over the phone to anywhere in the US or even internationally (via Skype).
Yes, shamanic healing works equally well over the phone! My first session as a client was over the phone, and the resultant healing convinced me to commit to training in this field.
Where are you located?
My studio is in Orleans, not far from Exit 12 on Rte 6. I’ll send you directions when you schedule a session.
I also conduct sessions with the Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center at various other locations.
How should I prepare for a session?
During the session, I will ask you to focus on an issue (a problem or opportunity) that is important to you. It must be an issue that you can feel strongly about on the day of the session. So please come to the session with a (mental) list of your top few issues. I will coach you to get in touch with the one with the most power at that time.
You don’t need to worry about prioritizing your issues, because we will ask for whatever healing is appropriate for you at this time to come through – and many clients find that that another issue had to be healed before their perceived “most important issue” could be healed.
Note that I don’t need to know the names or any details of your issues.
Please dress in light colored clothes for your session. It is important to avoid alcohol and drugs before and after your session. Be sure to take time afterwards to nurture yourself — so try not to schedule anything else for a couple of hours.
The effects of the healing can be gradual or dramatic; each individual experiences this differently. It may take up to a week to fully integrate the healing you have received. Drink plenty of water. Be gentle with yourself. Think of this process as a detoxification program on an energetic level. If you have any questions about what you’re experiencing, do not hesitate to call.
Do you offer any ceremonies?
Periodically (usually at new-moon or full-moon), I offer shamanic fire ceremonies. Here’s a recent announcement:
Join us for an introduction to the ancient tradition of offering our gratitude to the Earth and making our wishes — both personal and global — for the future. We will create a despacho (a mandala-like offering) together, then consign it to a ceremonial fire. (This is not about fire-walking: only the despacho goes in the fire!)
Shamanism is a deeply spiritual practice, with strong belief in our connection to Nature, Great Spirit, and one another. This ceremony will resonate with anyone yearning for that connection.
Click the button below if you’d like to be notified of the next scheduled public ceremony — or if you’d like to schedule a personal or family ceremony, perhaps to celebrate an anniversary or wedding, or to honor the passing of a loved one.
